Romantic Colmar

At night, Colmar takes on the feel of a Grimms’ fairy tale. By day, take a trip on the canals of this flowery town to enjoy beautiful romantic moments in a picture-postcard location. A cycle trip along the Lauch is an alternative for those who are not at home on water.

To see and do in Colmar

In Colmar, start by taking a walk around the collegiate quarter to discover the old town and its most beautiful buildings. Then visit the Unterlinden Museum, the Louvre of Alsace, to admire its masterpiece: the Issenheim Altarpiece by Grünewald (16th century).

As for cuisine, you have to try a “winstub”, where you will find specialities from Alsace.

Colmar, on the Alsace Wine Route

In August, don’t miss the Colmar wine fair. During the other months of the year, you can taste the Grand Crus or any good Alsace wines from the Colmar town vineyard. 2 rue du Stauffen (quartier Mittelhardt) - 68000 Colmar.

In the Martin Jund vineyard, the wine-growing Jund family make organic wines on the hillsides of Riquewihr, Ammerschwihr, Bennwihr, Katzenthal, Turckheim, and Colmar. In their 16th century house right in the town centre (12 Rue de l’Ange), mother and daughter will offer you a taste of Alsace wine.
