This English denomination refers to the new HQ for the fashion curious, just south of the Pigalle metro station.
In little over three years, trendy shops have replaced cobblers and revitalised this little section of the ninth arrondissement.
L’Oeuf has capitalised on its high rating and created its own line of clothing and jewellery.
Do not miss Cancan and Pigalle, two boutiques which have achieved renown and are dedicated respectively to women’s fashion and men’s high-end fashion.
Our impulse buy? Gals Rock, a young boutique dedicated to female rock culture, with a great selection of clothing by young designers as well as records and books for the gals.
Another sign of the area’s appeal: Vanina Escoubet has abandoned the still very popular Marais district to set up her studio-boutique here. Look in her dressing room for a very feminine retro line.
Even charming little darlings have a creative favourite on rue Henry Monnier: Judith Lacroix creates collections full of particularly original, carefully designed colourful prints. She is also developing a women’s line, featuring clothes created using the most beautiful prints from the children’s collection.
