Travel documents

What to bring

To check in, you will need your Eurostar ticket, plus a valid passport or identity card, and a visa if applicable. If you're travelling with kids, they will need their own passport too, including babies. More information about travelling with children is available below.

When you arrive at the check-in gates, simply scan the barcode on your paper ticket or on your mobile. It's very simple!  If your ticket doesn't have a bar code, don't worry - you just need to check in at one of the desks.

When you're departing from a UK station, bear in mind that extra passport checks are done but these only take a few seconds.

Children on Eurostar

Rules on kids travelling alone

Eurostar welcomes kids but you need to bear in mind there are specific age restrictions:

  • Teenagers aged between 16-18 years can travel independently;
  •  Kids aged between 12-15 (inclusive) can travel on their own as long as they're carrying a completed Eurostar unaccompanied minors form
     which has been signed by their parent/legal guardian at the station in the presence of Eurostar staff. They may be asked to show it to staff on board.
  • Children under the age of 12 MUST travel with a companion aged 16 or over.
  • Unaccompanied children are not allowed at all on the direct London <> South of France service or direct ski services.
