To ensure everyone can travel at the best price, SNCF is launching brand new discount cards to suit the travel needs of all its customers.

SNCF offer its customers 4 new discount cards called "Cartes AVANTAGE" as well as a "carte LIBERTÉ".

The Cartes AVANTAGE

The new Cartes Avantage guarantee that you travel at the best fare on TGV INOUI and INTERCITÉS. Enjoy a one-time fee of 49€/year for all the Cartes Avantage!

You are between 12 and 27 years old: Go for the CARTE AVANTAGE JEUNE! This card offers you 30% off through last minute deals, and is valid every day of the week.

You are between 27 and 59 years old: you can choose between the CARTE AVANTAGE WEEK-END and the CARTE AVANTAGE FAMILLE. These 2 cards offer you 30% off through last minute deals, and are valid for round trips, with at least one weekend day / night spent at your destination, for the cardholder and an additional adult.

You are 60 years old and over: The CARTE AVANTAGE SENIOR was made for you! This card offers you 30% off through last minute deals. It is valid every day of the week.

So whatever your profile, you can enjoy all these benefits and 30% discount for adults travelling in France and Europe and a 60% discount for up to 3 accompanying children (between 4 and 11 years old) including on PREM’s fares.

How are these cards different than the cards currently available?

The new Carte AVANTAGE replaces all the older discount cards (Jeune, Senior, Week-End, Enfant +) and comes in 4 different versions to meet every need.

Unlike previous cards, it has a single, more attractive purchase price, 49€ for 30% discount. It also offers an additional discount for accompanying children (regardless of which card you hold): 60% off the fare of the day (for up to 3 children between 4 and 11 years old)

What should I do if I have an old discount card purchased before 09/05/2019?

"Don't panic! If you prefer to stick with your current card, nothing will change until it reaches the end of its validity. It will work the same way it does today. For example, if you buy a ticket after May 9th and you are a Carte Week-End holder, you will still enjoy the purchase terms provided by your card.

On the other hand, if you want to take advantage of the new cards right away on 09/05, you can be reimbursed a prorated amount based on the period of validity remaining.

The Carte Liberté

The new CARTE LIBERTÉ offered at a flat rate of 399€/year lets you travel throughout France at a fixed and advantageous price based on your destination by taking advantage of at least -45% for first class and -60% for second class on the Business PREMIÈRE fare

Good to know: your tickets can be exchanged or reimbursed for free up to 30 minutes before your train’s departure.

How is this new card different?

It’s an evolution of the Fréquence season ticket, which pays for itself twice as fast thanks to an average reduction in price of 300 euros.

I recently bought a Fréquence season ticket but now I want a Carte Liberté: what should I do?

Don't panic! Just as with the Cartes Avantage, if you prefer to keep your current card, nothing will change until it reaches the end of its validity. It will work the same way it does today.

On the other hand, if you want to take advantage of the new cards right away on 09/05, you can be reimbursed a prorated amount based on the period of validity remaining.
